Entrepreneurs with a global mindset are curious and open to the world(s) around them. They recognize the importance of cultural differences and they work to transform them in a real competitive advantage.

They value having employees and partners from all over the world that can help them to create innovative services and products and to reach new markets. They are aware of the importance of promoting inclusive workplaces, creating communities and sense of belonging to attract and retain diverse talent.

In this article, Viviana Premazzi and Sarah Rapp, explain why they decided to open the first office of Global Mindset Development, GMD Malta.

Malta is a tiny island in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea but it is nowadays one of the most international and diverse places in Europe, with many international companies which have now decided to make Malta their European hub.

Companies and organisations move in a global marketplace, they need to operate in and from different locations and across sectors interacting with different cultures and environments, globally and locally.

GMD help clients to develop a global mindset, to think globally and act locally, to create their diversity and inclusion strategies and to promote intercultural communication and intercultural team management.

“The Glocal Malta” is a tour around the island which immerses the participants in the local culture while meeting people, foreigners and Maltese, who, thanks to their intercultural and international experiences, have developed a Global Mindset and glocal businesses, promoting economic, social and cultural changes while bridging the gap between tradition and innovation in Malta.

At GMD Malta we think it is extremely important to support and promote mentoring and programmes of entrepreneurship education. One of them is JAYE Malta, a non-profit entrepreneurship education institution specialising in providing entrepreneurship education programmes to young people (aged 8 to 30) attending academic or vocational education institutions in Malta and Gozo. The mission of JAYE Malta is to educate, empower and inspire young people so that they may transform their future and achieve entrepreneurial success in a global economy.

JAYE Malta is a member of the global mother organization JA Worldwide (JA), which one of the world’s largest youth-serving NGOs, who prepares young people for employment and entrepreneurship. For 100 years, JA has delivered hands on, experiential learning in financial literacy, work readiness, and entrepreneurship and created pathways for employability, job creation, and financial success.

More than 100.000.000 living JA alumni around the world are the best example of how a global entrepreneurship education can change the world to the better. Many JA alumni start businesses that serve a social need, solve a local problem, or inspire others to reach their potential. Others donate time and money to their communities. Still others give back to the next generation of young people by volunteering and mentoring. What all the JA alumni share is the desire to be a global force for good. ◼️
